JHCHC Awarded Special Recognition by the American Heart Association

It is with great pleasure that the American Heart Association has awarded special recognition to Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center. The American Health Association’s Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol program, recognizes Jackson-Hinds Comprehensive Health Center for participating in improving awareness, detection, and management of high cholesterol by educating and empowering patients with evidence-based information and tools. Improving quality of care for patients through AHA's Check. Change. Control. Cholesterol initiative.

Cardiovascular Disease remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality. Currently, an estimated 92.1 million US adults have at least one type of cardiovascular disease which may lead to myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, or death. By 2030, 43.9% of the US adult population is projected to have some type of cardiovascular disease (Benjamin et al., 2017).heck-change-control-cholesterol
